with plenty of non-album singles per year on top of that. You know what I miss? Elton John used to make at least an album per year. I love that Elton has no problem playing the odd album track from many years ago at his shows. I remember being amazed when Elton pulled out and played the rarity, "Dixie Lily," from CARIBOU at the show.

October 17th at Madison Square Garden with the full band, minus Nigel Olsson, who hadn't yet returned to the fold. I found the concert ticket inside the slipcase that came with the initial pressings of the album. The last time I saw Elton live in concert was for the MADE IN ENGLAND tour. It shows the good and the bad sides of our hero. You'll never see a more warts n' all documentary of Elton John. If you've never seen the film made at the time of MADE IN ENGLAND's release in March 1995 by Elton's partner, David Furnish, called TANTRUMS & TIARAS, do yourself a favor and check it out now. I still think "Believe" is one of Elton's great songs that should've been a hit. My biggest complaint is the album's too long and suffers due to lack of editing.
Elton's voice still had a lot of its upper register and some of the songs come close to rocking out. The MADE IN ENGLAND album as a whole is still a curious one to me. It's very reminiscent of Elton's MADMAN ACROSS THE WATER period and a very good song indeed. There's a song called "Man" on it that I'd forgotten all about. It will feature music by Elton John, Nelly Furtado, Kiki Dee, and selections from the score composed by James Newton Howard. The soundtrack for the upcoming animated film Gnomeo and Juliet will be released on February 8, 2011, 3 days before the film's initial release.
